Short movie postponed

Hi there,

Since the end of last year I had to put my short movie to sleep for some time.

Now I'm doing freelance work and directing 3D and VFX for some tv ads with a good team and some great high end studios in Brazil for post production.

Also doing an 1 year Concept Design and Sketch course at Melies with Diego Maia, as well a 6 month digital sculpture on Zbrush 3.0 with Alex Oliver.
There's a lot of Anatomy studies there and all time I come back to study it year after year I find out that I know nothing yet

I'll try to keep this blog update as best as possible.

Thanks for visiting !

CG Short Movie Tapp & Tupp WIP Synoptics

Here are some of my Softimage XSI Synoptics.
Synoptics are a kind of interactive menu which you can program it with script to make your animation life easier. So I designed it the way you can see here.

Now I am starting to block my animation sequences, thatīs one step before the animation hard work itself.
After doing the animation I have to move on post production processes, a lot of them BTW, like color correction, SFX, assembling the scenes together, sounds, music, and so on...
Still a have a long journey ahead.
Ending my 9th month now of production... sometimes it gets us down and it seems never ending, but there is nothing like that, to understand the whole film production by DOING it yourself. It goes from storytelling, script writing, all kind of art lessons to post production processes. Just amazing experience and I recommend to every CG artist.

So here it is, below is the main Synoptics control, I invoke it inside of XSI and I can do a lot of things with it like selecting groups of bones with a single click, setting keys to all bones any frame I want, and the lower icon menu I made gives access to other functions.
Here I posted then the main head synoptics and the hands synoptics.
Wonīt show you the poses, face shapes, expressions, mouth or even tail controls *lol*.
It would spoil the surprises

Hey... C&C are very welcome, thanks for seeing it.

CG Short Movie Tapp and Tupp WIP

A lot of work at my CG Short Movie īTapp and Tuppī.
I will be posting something about it regularly here from now on.
Official blog link for the short will go up soon, still in portuguese language only.

This is Tapp, a 'squicat' (squirrel cat), that lives on Anima Forest.
This is a WIP of the textures, still fixing some bugs before appling fur. This texture ressembles fur in order I could use it without fur in case of long shots and the fur rendering crashes.

Now it has all bones, skining, rig, deforms, and is abble to perform over 100 facial expressions.
Next steps - adding fur, animation test.
Other elements of the short are done, so I will be animating the scenes soon.
Will keep posting here.
