50 Heads in a Month - head 9

Head 7 from exercise done for the '50 heads in a month', Anatomy and Figurative Arts studies managed by Rebecca Kimmel at CGtalk long ago.

This is a reproduction from the original:
055:
DÜRER, Albrecht
Head of an Apostle Looking Upward
1508
Brush drawing with white highlights on a dark ground, 288 x 207 mm
Staatliche Museen, Berlin

I enjoyed a lot doing this one and playing around with Durer, he is a hard one to learn from. I still do some pencil woks from Durer masterpieces as exercise.

Mainly done with Sketchbook and Photoshop with a Wacom Intuos 3 9x12.

Thanks for your time.
This is a reproduction from the original:

EYCK, Jan van
Man in a Turban
1433
Oil on wood, 25,5 x 19 cm
National Gallery, London

I have made the cheeks smaller and higher than the original piece, and as pointed out by some other artists it became more anatomically 'feminine', I found this very interesting.

Basically done with Sketchbook Pro and Photoshop.
The extensive use of airbrush tool gave the blurred aspect of the turban, a point that I should correct and aim to achieve a sharper result.

Thanks for watching.
